4 notes01What are Rust graphs?
A Rust graph on this site plots one server's measured values against time: players over 48 hours, queue length over 24 hours, wipe events marked on the line. Each drawing is labelled with its unit and time range, and the underlying figures are refreshed every five minutes from Steam's public server list. Start with the full server list and open any server for its graphs.
02How often are the graphs updated?
Every five minutes. Steam's public server list is read on that interval, so a player count you read is no more than five minutes old. A wipe is plotted once the server reports a new world, usually within the same five-minute window. The time of the last refresh is shown with the graph.
03Where does the data come from?
From Steam's public Rust server list and from direct queries to each server, which return map seed, entity count and frame rate where a server reports them. No figure is estimated or rounded beyond the precision shown. Rust Graphs is independent: it is not run by Facepunch, a server network or a hosting company.
04How do I read a graph before I join a server?
Check the population line over 48 hours rather than the current number alone: a flat line well below capacity is a different server from a line that fills each evening. Then read the wipe marker: population shortly after a wipe tells you how fast that server refills. See servers just wiped for the freshest lines.
